Ephrata
Mennonite School

Kelsey
Copenhaver
8th Grade
"Now there were in
the church that was at Antioch..."
is something you might here Kelsey say while memorizing for the
competitive
sport of Bible Quizzing. Kelsey, along with many other students, will
be
memorizing Acts 13-20 for the upcoming quizzing season.
Something else she
enjoys
doing is taking pictures and editing them to make them look even
better.
Someday she hopes to become a secretary and maybe someday a mom with a
photography business.
She turned 14 this
past
year and her parents are Craig and Kristen. She is the oldest of four
and has
three younger brothers that also go to Ephrata Mennonite School.
Kelsey, along
with her family, attends Cornerstone Mennonite Church
where she enjoys participating in the Junior youth activities. She also
enjoys
helping her mom with Sunday School once in a while.
One of her favorite
vacations is when her family goes camping at her grandparent's house.
Another
place she is planning on going during the summer is Rubies Camp.
She
is very well organized and I'm sure she'll become a very good secretary.

Karissa
Zimmerman
8th Grade
It is a tie between
Ephrata and Linville Hill in Bible quizzing. The quizmaster just asked
the last
question for the day. Karissa just jumped and has answered the question
correctly and has broken the tie! This is Karissa's first year in the
competitive activity of Bible quizzing and so far is doing an awesome
job at
memorizing and remembering the verses!
She was born on December
9, 1995. Her parents are Roy and Sue Zimmerman and her dad has a
business of
his own, Roy Zimmerman Construction. Karissa attends the Faith
Mennonite
Fellowship. She has two brothers and one sister.
Her favorite color is blue
and vacation spot is Florida.
Her family owns a house there and usually goes every year. In her spare
time
she likes to ride her horse, Copper, and she loves to go shopping.
Don't we
all! One of her favorite foods is pizza and for dessert she loves
chocolate
chip mint ice cream.
One of her favorite
subjects in school is gym. Right now we junior girls are starting
volleyball
and are going to face Gehman's Mennonite School soon.
Karissa
is a great girl once you get to know her and usually always has a smile
on her

Krista
Sensenig
8th Grade
Krista raises the saddle
onto the back of her horse, Bambi. It is Sunday afternoon and the
perfect day
to go horseback riding in the woods with her sister. Krista and
her sister both own a horse and
they ride together a lot.
Krista is 14 years old, and
she was born on January 25. Krista is a member at Faith
Mennonite Church
and goes to Ephrata Mennonite School.
Her favorite colors are lilac and turquoise. One of the things she
probably
could not live without is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Krista lives on
what used
to be a dairy farm. Now it is home to two horses, several chickens and
many
cats. Krista loves the outdoors. She
loves animals – mostly dogs and horses. She loves to go ice-skating on
her
pond. I asked Krista what she wanted to be when she got older. Krista
says, “I
want to either be a missionary or have a ranch for abused horses.” Her
favorite
time of day is probably afternoons or evenings because that is when she
has
time to ride her horse, Bambi.
Krista
Sensenig loves to laugh and does it all the time. She is a very lively
girl
once you get to know her. Krista is a very good listener, too. She is
an
amazing girl and an awesome friend.

Destiny Good
8th Grade
Destiny sits on the edge
of her seat and calmly waits for the quizmaster to start the verse.
Bible
quizzing is one of Destiny’s favorite things to do. She, along
with other students from Ephrata Mennonite School
and other schools, memorize a large passage of Scripture and then take
part in
competitive quizzing. The passage for this year is Matthew 1:18-10:42
and she
already has it all memorized.
Destiny lives on a small
farm with four brothers and her parents, Scott and Mary Good. She
turned
thirteen on January 5. In her spare time she likes to ride her horse,
take
pictures, or hang out with friends. For vacation she likes to go to the
beach
and the cabin, and when she gets older she would like to have a job as
a nurse.
At school her favorite class is gym. She especially likes to play
soccer and
volleyball.
“I
like the fact that we have Christian teachers and have the freedom to
express
our faith,” she says about her school. Destiny, as an eighth grader has
made
the honor roll and cooperation list this past quarter. She plans to
come back
to school next year and will probably stay for high school. All in all
she is
an enthusiastic Christian and a great friend.

Rochelle
Martin
8th Grade
If you hear an
infectious
giggle while walking through the halls of Ephrata Mennonite School,
there is a good
possibility you just heard Rochelle Martin.
Her cheerful personality helps brighten the normal routine of
school.
Some of the classes
Rochelle finds interesting are Bible and Gym.
She appreciates the fact that she can speak freely and fearlessly about
God and her faith during a school day.
This year she is taking up something new – Bible Quizzing. Along with
other students she is memorizing Matthew 1: 18 – 10:42.
In
her spare time Rochelle enjoys reading an interesting book, hanging out
with
friends, or spending time with her nieces and nephews. Swimming
and camping are on the top of her
list for favorite summer activities! She
doesn’t like to just sit around. Go, go, and have fun would describe
Rochelle.
After Rochelle is finished with her schooling she dreams to serve as a
missionary or become a mom. MartindaleMennonite Church
is where Rochelle attends. Rochelle is
very thankful God put her in a Christian environment. She has a
great attitude towards life and is
an awesome girl to spend time with!

Alexis High
7th Grade
Alexis High is in
7th
grade. Her favorite subject is Bible and her least favorite is English.
At
recess, you could find her playing or bumping volleyball with her
class. She
was very excited when she found out that she was in volleyball club,
her
favorite sport, for the first quarter of school. She would rather not
play
softball, but plays with the 7th and 8th grade team. She doesn't think
she is
good at softball, but we will see this spring when softball starts.
Alexis's
parent's names are Fred and Grace High. Alexis admires her Dad because
he never
loses his temper. She has two brothers and a sister. She is the
youngest in her
family. She lives in Rothsville and goes to Faith Mennonite Fellowship
of
Denver. Her favorite color is indigo. On a hot summer day, Alexis would
be
eating Peanut Butter Ripple, her favorite kind of ice cream. In her
spare time,
you could find her curled up reading a book. When she grows up, she
wants to
work for her dad's business as a secretary, and then become a mom. I
think she
would make a great friend and I can't wait to learn more about her this
year at
school.
