National Nursing Home Week

National Nursing Home Week is a time-honored celebration for staff and residents who live and work in nursing home facilities. This year’s theme at Denver Health and Rehabilitation Center is “Down the Jersey Shore.” The residents enjoyed armchair travel at “Denver’s Eastern Shore” which began on Monday, May 13, to Cape May for a ladies Victorian luncheon. Highlights for the week include musical entertainment in Wildwood, sand art by the pool in Seaside Heights, and a display of ocean and beach treasures in Ocean City.

On Friday, May 17 they end the week in Atlantic City for an afternoon of casino fun and the Mrs. America Contest. The week included raffles, daily trivia and prizes for staff, and a treasure hunt for staff and residents to do together. A local day care decorated the walls with their colorful artwork of beach pictures. The residents enjoyed delicious foods from the Dietary Department. Lots of fun and a fabulous time for those who live and work at Denver. Thanks to the Denver employees for their commitment to compassionate and quality of care to the residents.
