Garden Spot Names Two

Garden Spot High School has selected the following two students as honored Students of the Month. They include Elizabeth Alvarez (left) and Douglas Kurtz (right).
Elizabeth Alvarez is the daughter of Ms. Olga Vargas-Botero, New Holland. She is involved in the following: Took Honors and AP courses; Member, Band (9-12); Member, Marching Band (9-12); Section Leader, Marching Band (10); Member, Jazz Band (9-12); Member, Chorus (9-12); Member, Vocal Ensemble (10-12); Member, Orchestra (9-10); Member, World Beat (9-10); Representative, Gay Straight Alliance (9); Representative, Spartan Tribute (10); Representative, Transition Leader (9); Member, GSPA (9-12); Work, Yoder’s Country Market (11-12); Volunteer, Children’s Theatre for inner-city school kids (11); Member, Student Council (9-10); Vice President, Class of 2017 (9-12); Secretary, GSPA (11-12); pursuing a double major in Journalism and Sociology; strengths are ambition, dependability, empathy, intellectuality, kindness and leadership.
Douglas Kurtz is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas T. and Carolyn Kurtz, Narvon.
