Gorgeous autumn weather ushered in the first few days of the 96th Annual Ephrata Fair, which was followed by a rather dreary day Thursday and then more lovely weather to wrap up the week. Thousands of area residents turned out to enjoy great food, plenty of entertainment, the excellent parade, and everything in between. Shown from top left going clockwise, are two-year-old Abbie Moyer who found great joy in meeting a goat, and commented, “You’re real tall!”; Paige Kiehl with an arm full in the 9 to 11 year old girls pig chase competition, and her rivals are standing looking in awe at the size of her catch and the audience cheered her on to complete the monumental task; Joylynn Hippey (as the mad hatter) makes final preparations with fellow dance studio friends to perform in the parade; perennial kids favorite corn crib is abuzz with activity; the imaginative group from Destinations to Explore wowed the crowd with storybook characters; Richard Saylor navigates his tractor blind folded during the tractor games; a gorgeous vegetable display; graceful dancers in the parade; and a crowd eagerly awaits their tasty sample of Monkey Bread.
