(Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese)

Girl Scouts from the Cocalico, Ephrata, Denver, Adamstown, Reamstown and Schoeneck areas gathered together at Camp Furnace Hills for a weekend of camping fun. The theme for the weekend was The Pirates of Camp Furnace Hills. On Friday evening all girls participated in activities based on the pirates theme. Mindy Fee, state representative, joined the girls for their opening flag ceremony and breakfast Saturday morning. She also met with past bronze, silver and gold award winners. Girls in grades kindergarten through 5th grade participated in a pirate activity workshop. They rotated between seven stations for activities, games and crafts teaching them about pirates. Girls in grades 6 through 12 participated in archery and outdoor cooking workshops. Anyone interested in learning about Girls Scouts please call 800-692-7816. Shown in the photo are various activities from the weekend event.
