Denver Elementary students enjoyed a very special Fine Arts Day planned for them featuring more than 22 presenters in the areas of music, dance, theater and visual arts. Each class had the opportunity to participate in three different hands-on and interactive sessions throughout the day. The variety of presentations included arts such as origami, watercolor painting, Irish dance, puppetry, folk music, glass fusing and more. Students were treated to a performance by Cocalico Middle School’s African Dance and Drumming group known as Cocalikuimba and music by Cocalico Middle School musicians. The day ended with a performance by Cello Fury, a cello group from the Pittsburgh area. Fine Arts Day at Denver Elementary was made possible with the financial support of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program for “Innovative Educational Improvement” through the Cocalico Education Foundation and a Square1Art building-wide fundraiser.
