Alta B. Rissler, 83, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at her home.
She was born in Bird-In-Hand to the late Elam and Maria (Burkholder) Reiff and was the wife of the late Paul M. Rissler, who passed away in 2012.
A homemaker, Alta was a member of the Old Order Groffdale Conference Church.
She is survived by six children, James R., husband of Marlene (Weaver) Rissler of Mt. Pleasant Mills, David R. Rissler of Manheim, Aaron R., husband of Patricia (Saldanha Magalhaes) Rissler of Mozambique, Africa, Harlan R., husband of Carolyn (Martin) Rissler of Clarkrange, TN, Susan R., wife of Lawrence Leid of Ephrata, Vera R. Rissler of Ephrata; 40 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary B., wife of Allen Zimmerman of New Holland, Vera, wife of Walter Brubaker of Kutztown, Esther B., wife of Benjamin Oberholtzer of Shiloh, OH, Lizzie B., wife of Aaron Horning of Shiloh, OH; two brothers, Paul B., husband of Verna (Sensenig) Reiff, Edwin B., husband of Emma (Newswanger) Reiff; a daughter-in-law, Barbara (Reiff) Rissler of Shiloh, OH, and a sister-in-law, Anna (Martin) Reiff of Narvon.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul R. Rissler; a daughter-in-law, Charlotte (McCracken) Rissler; three granddaughters; two sisters, Martha and Edna and a brother, Chester.
A viewing will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM, at the late residence, 500 Gristmill Road, Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 8:30 AM, at the late residence, with further services at 9:30 AM, at Groffdale Mennonite Church, 90 Groffdale Church Road, Leola, with Bishop Leon Zimmerman officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
