Florence M. Lodanosky (Flo/Aunt Floss), 90, of Denver, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 26, 2026, in the presence of her family. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Anna Welker Meyer.
Florence was the wife of the late Joseph W. Lodanosky, who passed in 2024. After high school, she went to East Stroudsburg Teacher’s College graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She worked as a third grade teacher in ELCO School District and later as a Title 1 Reading Specialist. After retiring, she continued to teach, tutoring English Language learners, helping them study for their citizenship test.
Florence had a love of playing both board and card games with a favorite being
Rummy 500. Traveling, reading, and puzzles were other hobbies she enjoyed. She was a woman of faith who enjoyed reading her Bible and spending time with her beloved dog, Daisy. Broadway shows were often attended by Florence and during the holidays, bountiful amounts of Christmas cookies were carefully handcrafted and baked with love. Above all else, she loved her family.
Surviving are her three daughters, Christine Vilord (Brian), Beth Brinsfield (Dean Bowman), Amy Nelson (Craig), as well as grandchildren, Katherine Hulsman (Burke) and their daughter, Charlotte, Jeffrey C. Vilord (Kassy), Patrick Brinsfield, and Paige Brinsfield.
Preceding her in passing are her siblings, Ann, Dorothy, Betty and Charles.
