Julia Ann “Judy” High, 94, of Ephrata, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Frank S. and Julia A. (Miles) Doerrman. Judy was the wife of the late C. Paul High with whom she shared 42 years of marriage before his passing in 2000.
Judy worked as a secretary for most of her life in various legal offices, church offices, and dental offices. She was also a volunteer at Ephrata Hospital for twenty years. She was an active member of church choirs and sang for the first time in public on WEEU in Reading at the age of four.
Judy had a beautiful soul whose presence was a constant source of light and comfort. With a naturally warm, smiling face, she possessed the rare gift of making everyone feel instantly welcomed, turning strangers into friends and conversations into cherished memories. Her love for people was matched only by her fierce, unconditional devotion to family. Since becoming the senior member of the family, she was an unwavering anchor through every season of life. Whenever someone was in need, she was always there-dependable, compassionate, and giving. The genuine warmth and kindness she shared so freely will live on forever in the hearts of everyone she touched.
Judy is survived by her brother, John C. Doerrman, 2 children, Nadine A. Larkin, wife of Thomas, and Dr. Kevin P. High, husband of Sandra; 5 grandchildren, Orrin Kuhn, husband of Elisabeth, Megan McCormick, wife of Eric, Carleigh Rittel, wife of Jeremiah, Douglas Jeffrey (DJ) High, and Shawn Mees, wife of Jacob, and 6 great-grandchildren, Lillyan Kuhn, Samantha Kuhn, Riley McCormick, Gabrielle Kuhn, Adelyn McCormick, and Kikaha High. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James F. Doerrman and Glenn A. Doerrman, and great-granddaughter Caylie E. Kuhn.
A memorial service is being planned for August 4, 2026, at Keystone Villa, 100 N. State Street, Ephrata, PA 17522. Visitation with family at 10:00 AM with a service following visitation.
