Lois S. Eaby, age 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 4, 2024, at Brethren Village. She formerly lived in Ephrata for 65 years.
Born on September 12, 1930, in East Whiteland Township, Chester County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Lillie (Wingenroth) Snader. She was the loving wife of Lloyd A. Eaby, her husband of 68 years who went to Heaven in April 2016.
Lois attended Warwick Township School, participating as a cheerleader and majorette. Later, she earned her GED.
For 20 years, she enjoyed working as a part-time waitress in several Ephrata area restaurants.
She was a Charter Member of Grace Brethren Church, Ephrata, and previously was a member of Lancaster Grace Brethren Church. She taught Sunday School, served in Girlsí Ministries and Youth Ministries, and was a Camp Counselor at Camp Conquest for many years. She was also very active in the Ephrata Area Women’s Connection, formerly Ephrata Area Christian Women’s Club, serving for 35 years in many leadership positions including Chairman and Prayer Coordinator, and was a member of Stonecroft Ministries.
Lois was a Republican Committeewoman for the 1st Ward of Ephrata Borough for 17 years.
In addition to being a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother, Lois was very involved with helping others, including with Love, INC.
She also had the gift of hospitality and hosted many missionaries, pastors, and speakers. Her home was open to innumerable people with special housing needs.
She will be lovingly missed by her four children: Teresa “Terry,” married to Dale Peachey, Ephrata; Daniel Eaby, married to Nancy, Marietta; Douglas Eaby, married to Lynn, Sarasota, FL; and Dale Eaby, married to Laurie, East Petersburg; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Sam Snader and Gloria Nauman, both of Ephrata.
She was predeceased by a newborn son, and eight sisters and one brother: Esther Baer; Pauline Ruhl; Florence Alexander; Miriam Kemp; Josephine Sprecher; Annabell Bedi; Lillian Wiegand; Doris Groff and Jim Snader.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a viewing on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 9 to 10 AM, at Grace Church, 62 Hahnstown Rd. Ephrata, followed by her funeral service at 10 AM, with Pastor Kim Robertson officiating. Interment will be at Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery, 1120 Weaverland Rd., East Earl, PA 17519.
