Pauline S. Hoover, 85, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at her residence.
She was born in Elizabeth Township to the late Frank and Cora (Hoover) Seibel and was the wife of Amos B. Hoover.
She was a member of Cocalico Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference). Pauline spent 24 years working as a nurse at Fairmount Homes as well as in several hospitals and clinics. Later she worked in speech therapy for people with special needs.
In addition to her husband, Pauline is survived by nine stepchildren, Neal, husband of Ella Mae Hoover of Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA, JayPaul, husband of Dorothy Hoover of Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA, RoseMarie, wife of Leroy Martin of Colby, WI, Amos Lynn, husband of Alice Hoover of Blain, PA, Robert, husband of Rachel Hoover of Rutlege, MO, John David, husband of Arlene Hoover of Loysville, PA, Timothy, husband of Joan Hoover of Rome, PA, Edna, wife of Mark Leinbach of Loysville, PA, Esther, wife of Merle Martin of Colby, WI; a son-in-law, Ronald, husband of Julia (Lauver) Reinford of New Bethlehem, PA; four siblings, Irene, wife of the late Ivan Zimmerman of Ephrata, Ruth, wife of Leon Hurst of Lititz, Norma, wife of Paul Musser of Womelsdorf, Nelson Seibel of Merels Inlet, SC; 86 step grandchildren; 253 step great-grandchildren; six step great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ruth Horning of Lititz and 22 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Janet Reinford; a sister, Alta Horning and a brother-in-law, Henry Horning.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, at Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Rd, Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 8:45 AM, from Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, with further services at 9:30 AM, at Springville Mennonite Church, 580 Springville Rd, Ephrata, with Bishop Melvin Martin and Bishop J. Paul Hoover officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
