Susan E. Yerger, 74, formerly of Ephrata, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, at the Phoenix Center for Rehab and Nursing. Born on May 17, 1950, in Coatesville, Susan was the daughter of the late James & Ruth (Plank) Stringer, and the loving wife of the late Harold Yerger.

Susan’s warmth and spirit touched the lives of many. In addition to her career and community service, Susan had a deep love for nature. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, and bird watching, which all became some of her cherished pastimes, allowing her to connect with the tranquility of the outdoors. Susan’s legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Dawn M. (Howard Knight) Hopkins of Leola; two grandchildren, William (Stephanie) Hopkins and Gabrielle Dunn; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, her twin, James (Sally) Stringer, and Steven Stringer. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Whitekettle.
