Berry Delicious Smoothie

Regina Martin, East Earl

  • 1 heaping cup strawberry, blueberry and raspberry blend
  • ½ cup spinach
  • ½ avocado
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • milk

Blend and add milk until the desired thickness.

 

Banana Colada

“Delicious!”

  • 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 4 oz. light rum (optional)
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • ½ cup light coconut milk
  • ½ cup ice

Place all ingredients into a blender in the order listed above. Pulse three times and blend on high until smooth.

Yield: 2 to 3 servings.

 

Green Paradise

“Delicous!”

  • 1 cup packed spinach
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 small banana
  • ½ cup ice
  • 1½ cups coconut water

Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender in the order listed above. Pulse three times and blend on high until smooth.

Yield: 2 to 3 servings.

 

Strawberry Lime Smoothies

“This is perfect for the strawberries coming into season now.”

  • 8 oz. cup strawberry yogurt
  • ½ cup 2% milk
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups hulled fresh strawberries

Process all the ingredients in a covered blender until smooth.

Yield: 3 servings.

 

Peach Smoothies

Pat Roth, Ephrata

“Delicious!”

  • ½ cup peach or apricot nectar
  • ½ cup sliced fresh or frozen peaches
  • ¼ cup vanilla yogurt
  • 2 ice cubes

In a blender, combine all of the ingredients. Cover and process until all are blended. Serve in chilled glasses.

Yield: 2 servings.

 

Purple Cow Smoothie

  • 1 cup 100% Welch’s grape juice
  • 1 cup fat free plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • ½ cup milk (skim, 2% or whole)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ cup ice cubes
  • banana (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

For even more heart-healthy benefits, add ground flax seed or walnuts!

 

Fruit and Seed Smoothie

  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • ½ cup strawberries
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon flax seeds

Blend and enjoy.
