John Paul Dirks, 73, of Denver, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia. Born in Lansdale, he was the son of the late Paul C. & Ruth L. (Wanner) Dirks and the loving husband of 40 years to Linda L. (Brooker) Dirks.

John was a graduate of North Penn High School in Lansdale and attended West Virginia University. He enjoyed the adventures of raising his children as a military family while Linda served in the Air Force. The four years that they spent in Alaska was his favorite place to live. John loved cooking for his family, always choosing the largest pot and filling it to the brim, as if he was cooking for an army. They moved to the Denver area in 2001 when Linda retired. He attended Wiest Church in Schoeneck. He loved documentaries of the unusual or unexplained such as BigFoot and UFOs. Hallmark movies with the family were also times he enjoyed. John was the life of the party, always had a joke to share, and a great sense of humor.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by five children, Desiree (Sammy) Miller, of Denver, Michael (Ellen) Dirks, of Wisebaden, Germany, Jeffrey (Crystal) Dirks, of Las Vegas, Jennifer Dirks (Benjiman Keesling) of Denver, and Kevin Dirks, (Navy) stationed in Japan; 12 grandchildren, Ashley (Charlie) Jew, Austin Ingleston, Brooke Piland, Vanessa Dirks, Lea Nossem, Olivia Dirks, Jace Dirks, Jaxon Dirks, Shawn Dirks, Ronin Keesling, Elric Keesling; a great-great grandchild, Amelia Jew; and one on the way; and two siblings, Robert Dirks and Linda Hallman. John was predeceased by a grandson, Jonathan Piland.

A viewing was held on Fri., June 3rd, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, 34 N. Reamstown Rd., Reamstown (Stevens), PA 17567, where a celebration of life took place at 7:00 p.m.
