Carl V. Hehnly, 87, of Martinsville, VA, formerly of Denver, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Stanleytown Health & Rehab, Bassett, VA.

He was born in Denver to the late Victor and Ada (Lutz) Hehnly and was the husband of the late Miriam (Burd) Hehnly who passed away in 2016.

Loving anything to do with vehicles and racing, he was the owner/operator of Carl’s Body Shop for over 10 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed making models of cars, working with tools, and tinkering.

Carl is survived by 4 children, Debra L. Gerhart, Patricia Blimline, Diane L. King, and Darryl R. Hehnly; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Pauline Hale and Evelyn Landis-Richard.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 3 children, David E. Hehnly, Dawn M. Hackman, Dennis R. Hehnly, and 2 sisters, Anna Nixdorf and Betty Buchter.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am, with Pastor Keith Sweitzer officiating. Interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery Annex.
