Carol J. Hewitt, 84, of Ephrata, formerly of Cape May, NJ, passed away Sunday morning, June 18, 2023, at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pa. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Leroy & Margaret (Stringer) Williams.
Carol grew up in Philadelphia then moved to Cape May, NJ. She was a hair stylist and worked in the lunchroom for the Cape May Schools. When Carol moved to Ephrata, she worked at the local Walmart. She attended church at Grace Church in Ephrata, and she loved her family dearly.
Carol is survived by a son, Kevin (Donna) Hewitt of Denver; a daughter, Carol Jane (John) Doughten of Charleston SC; seven grandchildren, Kevin P. Hewitt, Christine E. Hewitt, Andrew Ritter, Mary Ritter (Clay Dupree), Johnny Doughten, David Doughten, & Casey Cizunas (Ricky); and two great grandchildren, Emma Lynn Hewitt & Isabella Sera Hewitt. Carol was predeceased by two sisters, Peggy Kochersperger and Joan Kuch.
A private graveside service will be held, and Carol’s final resting place is in Salem Union Cemetery, Reamstown.
