David M. Zimmerman

David M. Zimmerman, 88, of Ephrata, entered into rest on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in West Earl Township to the late Harry and Lena Zimmerman and was the husband of the late Katie (Martin) Zimmerman, with whom he shared 11 years of marriage. He was then a widower of 48 years.

He was a member of Conestoga Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference). David was a farmer and enjoyed his garden.

He is survived by five daughters: Mary Ann Zimmerman (Paul) of Ephrata; Lena Mae Zimmerman of Ephrata; Lois Martin (Aaron) of Ephrata; Lydia Jane Zimmerman (Jerry) of Martinsburg; and Sara Etta Zimmerman of Ephrata, with whom he resided; one son, Paul D. Zimmerman (Martha Sauder); 27 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers: John Zimmerman (Anna Ruth) of Ephrata; Martin Zimmerman of Akron; Ivan Zimmerman and Paul (Joanne) Zimmerman, both of Ephrata; two sisters: Edna Martin (David) of East Earl, and Lydia Martin (Thomas) of Mifflinburg.

In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by two infant daughters; a granddaughter; a sister, Anna Zimmerman; a brother, Reuben Zimmerman; and two sisters-in-law, Martha Zimmerman and Gladys Zimmerman.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, at the residence, 509 S. Farmersville Road, Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 9:00 AM, at the residence, with further services at 9:30 AM, from Conestoga Mennonite Church, 313 N Farmersville Rd, Ephrata, with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
