Esther G. Burkey, 65, of Denver, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at home.

She was born in Ephrata, daughter of the late Herman H. and Mary (Derr) Eberly and was the wife of the late James Burkey who passed away in 2021.

She was a member of Middle Creek Church, Lititz. She enjoyed working in the garden and baking. She loved babies and was very family oriented. She was an amazing person who had a heart of gold, was very generous, and loved to help older people. Her favorite phrase was, “remember when…”

Esther worked in the restaurant at Weavers Market for many years.

Esther is survived by 9 siblings, June Hartman, Anna, wife of Earl Yelk, Jeanie, wife of Terry Johnson, Jenny, wife of Eli Horst, Richard Eberly, Linda Conard, Faye Hummel, Lisa, wife of Karl Mastle, and Brenda, wife of Ronald Elliot.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Herman Jr., Rose, Barry, and Sterling Eberly.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Middle Creek Church, 351 Middle Creek Church Road, Lititz. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 am, with Pastor Eric Brubaker officiating. Interment will take place in the Middle Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Esther’s memory may be made to Make-a-Wish Foundation of the Susquehanna Valley, 1054 New Holland Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601.
