Mary Jane ‘Janie’ (Weinhold) Buchter, 75, of Stevens, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Born in Lauschtown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Clarence J. Sr. and Bertha (Kessler) Weinhold and the loving wife of 58 years to David A. Buchter.

She was a graduate of Garden Spot High School, class of 1965. Janie worked at the Cinderella Knitting Mills for 25 years. She was a faithful member of Wiest United Methodist Church in Scheoneck for over 50 years. She enjoyed volunteering for bingo at the Denver Fair and Schoeneck Fire Co. Janie’s happy place was always the beach, especially Tuckahoe Acres in Dagsboro, Delaware. She spent her beach time golf-carting in the sun to soak in the views and wearing her favorite flip flops. Janie was known to always have a smile on her face. Family was everything to Janie, including making time to stay in touch with her sisters and extended family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandsons and great grand­daughters.

Janie is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Corwin (Brian) of Reinholds; two grandsons, Ryan Corwin of Reinholds and Nick Corwin (Kendel) of Denver; three great granddaughters, Elodie, Kennedy, and Everleigh; and six sisters, Alta M. Hoshour, Hazel V. Sweigart, Shirley L., wife of Ernest R. Dunkelberger Sr., Bertha G. Adair, Agnes A., wife of Steve Thomas, & Helen V., wife of Harold L. Shaak. Janie was predeceased by one infant granddaughter, Nicole, and three brothers, Clarence ‘C.J.’ ‘Shorty’ Weinhold Jr., husband of Marian E. Weinhold, Evan P. Weinhold, and David K. Weinhold.

A viewing will be held on Sat., Mar. 11th from 12 to 2 p.m. at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 34 N. Reamstown Rd., Reams­town (Stevens), Pa. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m.
