Mary R. Miller, 101, a longtime Denver resident, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Ephrata Manor.

She was born in Brecknock Township, to the late William and Edith (Myers) Gangaway and was the wife of the late Henry Miller, with whom she shared 29 years of marriage, before his passing in 1968.

She was a member of St. John’s UCC, Denver. Mary helped her husband with their roasted peanut business. She later worked as a seamstress for the former Hemmerich’s in Denver. She enjoyed puzzles, yard work, shopping, and especially, spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by a daughter, Edith, wife of Paul Sweigart of Denver; 2 grandchildren, Deb, wife of Randy Keener, Patti Adams; 6 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Sheaffer; four brothers; 3 sisters and a son-in-law, Richard Sheaffer.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Ephrata Manor for all the care they provided the last 4-1/2 years. Mary will be dearly missed by her family.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 1 to 2 PM at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM, with Pastor Bradley Haws officiating. Interment will take place in the Muddy Creek Cemetery.
