Russell Louis Bacon, Jr.
Published on November 6, 2023Russell Louis Bacon, Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 31, 2023. He had been residing at Liberty Pointe in Doylestown, PA. He was born in El Paso, Texas on March 27, 1955 to Russell Louis Bacon, Sr. and Hazel Ann Chandler. Russell grew up with a love of horses alongside his parents and siblings. He grew up with a love for the outdoors. During college he married Debbie Lynn Greenfield from Titusville, New Jersey. They had three children: Sarah, Hanna and Josiah.
Russell was a lifelong outdoorsman enjoying camping, target shooting, hunting, chopping wood, riding horses, and scuba diving. He enjoyed spending time doing many of these activities with his children and being with his grandchildren. Russell prepared for ministry, not only at Northeastern Bible College, but also Biblical Theological Seminary, where he received two Master’s Degrees. He served as police chaplain at Western Indian Ministries in Window Rock, Arizona, and pastor at East Nantmeal Baptist Church in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania, and chaplain and teacher at Petra Church. He attended Petra Church for over 25 years and would love to meet with friends and fellowship with others at church events. He enjoyed helping others. He was described by friends to be “larger than life.”
He is survived by Dr. Debbie Bacon and their children, their spouses, and grandchildren: Joseph and Sarah with Alice, A.J., and Ashlyn Martel, Alan and Hanna with Graham and Parke Eadline, and Josiah and Alaina Bacon with baby on the way; as well as his two sisters, Carolyn Bacon and Gail Cunningham, and sister-in-law Penny Bacon, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Petra Church, 565 Airport Road, New Holland, Pennsylvania on December 10, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in celebration of his life.
