Sarah R. “Sally” Zoller, 72, of Stevens, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born and raised in Churchtown, Sally was a daughter of the late Wilfred P. and Catherine (Hawk) Mattis and the loving wife of 32-years to Donald C. Zoller until his passing in 2016.

Sally’s family moved to Ephrata in the late ‘60’s and she graduated from Ephrata High School, class of 1969. Not long after her twins were born, Sally became an Advertising Clerk for Science Press and worked there for over 20 years. She later worked at ATC in New Holland and Lancaster as an Administrative Assistant. Sally loved going to auctions, particularly benefit auctions. She was affectionally known as Mama Max at the auctions where her son would auctioneer. Everyone knew Sally, she was friendly, warm, outgoing, and made friends with strangers in an instant. Sally always had a joke to tell and a smile to share. She enjoyed following WWE wrestling and often announced the upcoming match to her family with “Guess what! Wrestling tonight!”. Her enthusiasm was contagious, she could find great joy in the smallest things. She loved her dogs, even bred toy poodles for a while, and her sweet baby, Shantel, was always by her side. The most important thing to Sally was family, and friends were family too!

Sally is survived by twins, Tracy L. Fishel and James L. “Max” Fishel, both of Stevens; brother-in-law, Jay Larry Frey; nieces and nephews; her ‘like-sisters’, Shirley & Tess; and many loving friends. Sally was predeceased by two sisters, Joanne Frey and Mary C. Ruth.

A viewing will be held on Thurs., Dec. 28th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, and a funeral service will begin at 7:00 p.m.

In memory of Sally, contributions are appreciated to Hospice & Community Care, www.hospiceandcommunitycare.org.
